SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER

*Teacher of Children with Disabilities Endorsement (282 or 286) required*

The Lisbon School Department is seeking a highly qualified middle school level (K-12) certified special education teacher to teach a self-contained program at the Philip W. Sugg Middle School. The special education program serves students with a wide range of emotional, behavioral and academic challenges. The teacher in this position co-develops the classroom milieu, implements Individual Education Plans, maintains accurate records and communicates with IEP Team members. The position also requires supervision of a team of educational technicians.

*Successful experience working with children who present emotional, learning, behavioral, academic and autism challenges is required.

*Should demonstrate understanding of special education regulations, the IEP process and state/federal learning standards.

*Successful history of supervising staff and collaborating with other professionals.
